Create Textile Art / work with Natural Dyes
2-DAY TEXTILES CREATION WORKSHOP for the INTERIOR led by artist Pieter van der Werf
Focus on the creation of a small textile wall hanging and learn about natural dyes during this 2-day workshop on two consecutive Saturdays. We will look at different wool fibres and yarns, and design and make a textile piece for the home. You’ll have the opportunity to discover and apply several art forms and enjoy making without distraction. The days include:
- textile creation including wet felting
- creating with natural dyes and pigments using botanicals
Pieter has recently moved from Scotland to Mellor. He is an experienced textile artist working for interior designers and organising community workshops. He is listed in the directories of the Crafts Council and Craft Scotland and he’s a member of the Green Crafts Initiative. His studio is a partner in The Campaign for Wool.
Price: £70 for 2 days (or £40 if you’d like to attend one day only), including all materials, coffees and tea.
When: Saturday 1 October & Saturday 8 October 2022, each day from 10 am to 1 pm.
