Studio Orains is the arts and creative project partnership led by Pieter van der Werf.
Art, creativity and sustainability is at the heart of everything the studio touches. We have a wide and diverse range of expertise, from making large scale wall art and art installations to running events and workshops (in English, German and Dutch), teaching, and advising clients on and managing their projects.
Practice-led research currently involves the creation of a set of colours under The Colours of Orains and Salvage, the deconstruction an reconstruction of Harris Tweed fibers.
Studio Orains is an accredited member of the Green Crafts Initiative (a link to a good article here) and is listed in the directories of the Crafts Council UK and Craft Scotland. Orains art works are held in private collections internationally, including the USA, Australia, The Netherlands and the UK.
